Bicycle Wheel
Marcel Duchamp was an American, born France. 1887-1968. Bicycle Wheel is Duchamp’s first ready made, a class of objects he invented to challenge assumptions about what constitutes a work of art. Duchamp combined two mass-produced part—a bicycle wheel and fork and a kitchen stool—to create a type of nonfunctional machine.
As a point artiste describes that “art is a creation for the eye and can only be hinted at with words.” So when I saw readymade the Bicycle Wheel, I feel some controlling from inside to this readymade. For instance, I feel the kitchen stool has four legs such as government holding the power, and above the bicycle wheel look like average people. Regardless, you cannot succeed in escaping without government control.
The Dream
The Dream is from French famous pointer Henri Rousseau. [1844-1910]. He is commonly seen as the archetype of the untutored artist and can be considered the first major exponent of Naïve art. Although Henri Rousseau never traveled outside France, he instead drew on images of the exotic as it was presented to the urban dweller through popular literature, colonial exposition, and the Paris Zoo.
In this point, I can image the pointer Henri Rousseau is really eager for happiness life. Therefore, he uses various colors to show the garden and human being live with animals together to explain peacefully life.
